Sustainability isn’t easy.  And that’s a shame, because it should be.

In rural areas, in the developing world, in hard-pressed urban locations, everyone knows what it means.  Most people in the West had grandparents or great-grandparents who understood.  In places that consumerism hasn’t touched, or amongst people who remember the days before it took hold, it is a way of life – their way of life.

It is living within our means.  It is living cooperatively.  It is being mindful of others’ needs.  It is looking out for one another.  It is sharing.  It is being fair.

It’s time to re-balance ourselves and our world.
