Silk Road Challenge for The Nature Conservancy Council

The Silk Road is the mythical setting for the international trade, where the West and the East met and opened trade relations more than two thousand years ago. The dawn of B2B e-commerce platforms like Alibaba.com has revolutionized international trading, though its spiritual home remains on the Silk Road, and at its heart the Gobi desert.
We are inviting our members and small businesses from around the world to participate in the Silk Road Challenge 2014, taking place in the Gobi Desert, China. You will complete an epic journey of 112 kilometers over 4 days, competing against other small businesses to win the challenge. While experiencing the a harsh environment – partly the consequence of human influence and notably climate change – you will also raise funds for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Alibaba.com’s partner organization for this project, to support protection of ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
This will be the voyage of a lifetime. What are you waiting for?
